Saved passwords in the browser can cause issues if the incorrect password has been saved, for example if it the original one-time password. Admin and teacher passwords can be edited to save the correct password. As a pupil password consists of 5 separate digits, they should not be saved. The browser can only save the first digit so any saved pupil passwords will need to be deleted.
You can bypass the saved passwords:
- On a temporary basis by using an incognito tab. This does not reference any settings or browser history.
- On a permanent basis by deleting/editing the password in Google passwords. Next time you log in, choose ‘never save password for this site’ if the machine is likely to be accessed by more than user.
Option 1: Going Incognito
- Select the three dots to the right of the browser’s address bar

- Choose ‘New Incognito window’

- A new dark window will open with the incognito symbol

- Access Wordshark using the usual URL: https://onwordshark.com/schoolname
- To close the incognito tab click on the X
- To move between the normal browser and incognito use the Chrome icon on the taskbar

Option 2: Edit/remove saved passwords
- Select the three dots to the right of the browser’s address bar

- Select ‘Google Password Manager’ (see below if this option is not visible)

- This will take you to the list of saved passwords
- Scroll to find Wordshark or use the search window to search for onwordshark.com

- Click on the arrow next to the website
- You will be prompted for your Windows computer login for security

- This will then show you the information for the webpage
- You can use the ‘eye’ to see the password that has been saved
- The edit option will allow you to change it to your new password
- The delete option will allow you to remove it completely

- If you do not have the ‘Google Password Manager’ option:
- Choose the three dots to the right of the browser’s address bar

- Choose ‘Settings’

- Under ‘Settings’, choose ‘Autofill and passwords’

- Choose ‘Passwords’ and scroll down to ‘Saved Passwords’
- Scroll to Wordshark and use the arrow to access the edit/delete options
